Healthcare Strategy

Every business needs to have a strategic planning tool in order to effect positive changes. Strategic planning helps solve problems and provides an effective framework that guides decision making.  Strategic planning is helpful and used as a process tool at every level of healthcare practice.  Health care providers understand the health care process and think of strategic planning as an expanded version in health care that help solve problems that may arise (Sare & Ogilvie, 2010). Victoria Gardens is a health care institution that has engaged in strategic planning tool which helps its business and service provision.

Victoria Gardens is a long term care facility which has been operation in the United States.  The facility provides health care to residents in a manner that is respectful to all people. The facility provides care that nurtures human spirit and body.  The services provided is made effective by ensuring respect, honesty, integrity, trust and team work. This is also made effective by ensuring effective strategic plan. Strategic plans come with variety of shapes depending on the type of organization. Victoria Gardens has a strategic plan that has different composition (Simerson, 2011).

Victoria Gardens has a vision which is a major component of a strategic plan. The health facility strives to be a responsive and integrated long term care centre that provides exceptional care in a safe and secure environment. This is a crucial component in strategic planning. The organization should have a long term goal and focuses on the future and its operations on a day to day basis.  The strategic plan is also composed of a mission statement (Victoria Gardens, 2009).  A mission statement help ensure that the organization is working as per its vision.  When doing strategic planning, a mission statement is included which guide the workers in their operations and service provisions. Victoria gardens ensure that care is provided in a manner that helps human spirit and body. This can be enhanced by ensuring respect, honesty, integrity and teamwork.

The other component on the strategic plan in Victoria Gardens is service objective.  A strategic plan needs to have objectives that are long term. These objectives help the facility or organization works closely to achieve its vision and mission. Workers are guided by these objectives in their services to clients.  Care team principles are also included in the strategic plan in Victoria Gardens.  This involves the relationship between the employees and the environment or clients (Moseley, 2009).  Teamwork is necessary and relating with the clients is also crucial. An organization cannot achieve its strategic goals if there is poor relationship with the community.  Human resource principles are also included in the strategic plan. This is crucial because the organization employ competent people who are committed to the vision of the care facility.  Victoria Gardens also has a SWOT analysis and has scanned its internal environment. This helps identify the weaknesses and strengths and formulate strategies that help meet the overall strategic plan (Simerson, 2011).

The health facility assesses the needs and the trends in the health care system. This assessment helps the health care facility to choose the best strategies to help in its operations.  Due to the changing demands and market, Victoria Gardens ensure that it updates its plans to meet the expectations of the clients.  There is also continuous quality Improvement process that monitors strategies and help improve care and client’s quality of life (Bryson & Alston, 2005).  By doing this, Victoria Gardens facility is able to implement the best strategies.

Victoria Garden has used different strategies in ensuring quality service provision and quality of life of the residents.  The health facility ensures holistic response to needs of the resident. This is a strategy that helps attract community support and clients have trust on the services provided (Victoria Gardens, 2009).  The facility also uses a strategy of ensuring a strong relationship between the community partners and stakeholders. This is a strategy that creates a good environment for delivery of care services.  In any form of business, it is necessary to ensure an effective relationship with the communities and stakeholders. This attracts support from these partners and the business will work on its long term goal in a stable environment (Sare & Ogilvie, 2010).

Victoria Garden ensures that the staff is competent, committed and highly qualified. This is a strategy that works towards accomplishing the vision and mission of the health Facility.  Victoria gardens use this strategy because employees are key stakeholders who can channel development and success of an organization.  Victoria also ensures that there is safety and security in all aspect of the operation.  The residential health facility can only meet its long term objectives when there is safety in the residence. The main use of this strategy is to ensure safe operation and protect its clients in all aspects of life. This will ensure its growth, reputation and competitive in the market (Moseley, 2009).

In conclusion, strategic planning is an essential concept in health care service provision.  This helps tackle and solve all problems that may attack the organization. Strategic planning also allows the organization work on its vision by ensuring that objectives are formulated and are achievable. Strategies provide a long term road map for health care facilities and are quite crucial in the current economic circumstances.
